With the COUNTIF function Excel can count the number of times a word or number appears in any range of cells. Use the SEARCH functionto find the position of text withoutcase-sensitivity and withwildcard support.
In the adjacent cell I want to get the position of these occurrences of the characters.
Open the Find and Replace dialog by pressing the shortcut key Ctrl F. SEARCH e Excel returns 1 because e is the first character in the word Excel ignoring the case. And heres a couple of basic Excel SEARCH formulas. Now it will ask for find text Select the Search Text to search which is available in B2.
