Entering And Editing Data In The Formula Bar. The formula bar can be used to edit the content of any cell and can be expanded to show multiple lines for the same formula example shortcut for toggling. On the right hand side of the Formula Bar there is a expand or contract toggle.
The display of the formula bar is a setting that will carry over between different spreadsheets regardless of the setting that is applied to that specific file.
Click on the Formulas Tab in the ribbon. In the View Options dialog box check or uncheck the Formula Bar option under the Application Settings section. Left click and drag to adjust the horizontal size. Scroll to the Display section.
