If you are using Excel for the web click Home Number Format Percentage. Usually we multiply the result with 100 in order to get the percentage difference in numbers. However this is not the case when we are trying to find percentage difference between two numbers.
To find the percentage difference between any two numbers first subtract the smallest number from the bigger digit and then divide the outcome of subtraction with the smallest number among them.
First press the button. If the resulting value is not formatted as a percentage then we can format that cell and get the value in percentage. The formula new_value-old_valueold_value can help you quickly calculate the percentage change between two numbers. To calculate the difference between two values or times may be easy for most of Excel users but have you tried to calculate the absolute difference between values as below screenshot shown.
