Value is the numerical value that we need to convert to text. Select VALUE in the list to bring up the functions dialog box. To convert simple text values to numbers you can use the the VALUE function or simply add zero as described below.
Once extracted you can work with the formula like any other text.
To copy the actual value instead of the formula from the cell to another worksheet or workbook you can convert the formula in its cell to its value by doing the following. In the formula C2 is the address of the first cell with the numbers to convert. TEXT is available in all versions of Excel. Apologies for the apparent confusion.
